Ashley's Piece of the Puzzle

Welcome to our class
website! There will be a lot of great and useful
information posted here; but, first let's talk about our
awesome school Still
Still Elementary is in beautiful Powder
Springs, GA. The town name changed from
Springville in 1859 when is was often referred to as
"Gunpowder Springs" due to the seven springs within the
city limits that are rich with 26 minerals which turn the
surrounding sand as dark as gunpowder. Still
Elementary is a wonderful school with a very inclusive
environment for special education and is noted as holding
the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program for the Western half
of the county. I think Still
is pretty special because I loved it when I was a little
Still eagle myself during my elementary years!
Below is our cool new school logo to support our
feeder high school the Hillgrove Hawks, our two fantastic
administrator Mrs. Fielder (Asst. Principal) and Mrs.
Manharth (Principal), and a big giant thank you banner for
Home Depot who recently came out and spruced up our
grounds and made us look pretty again!
I'm so proud to be an eagle at heart and to call Still my
home. I have been teaching the K-2 Autism class at
Still for three years and absolutely love it! In my
free time, (though I get little of it) I love to read,
craft, get sucked into TV series with my hubby, ride my
bike at the beautiful Big Creek
Greenway, and I've committed to running one 5K a
month for the year, so I guess I kinda enjoy that
as well. My husband and I love pets! We have
four cats and two dogs and I'm convinced we need a lot of
land so we can run a dog rescue; but, how could I ever
leave my students?
Our class is so unique-just like the kiddos in it!
We include kindergarten through second graders with Autism
who need Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Discrete
Trial Instruction (DTI) to meet their specific
academic, social, sensory, and behavioral needs. We
cover general education standards in a smaller setting and
as you may know the standards we teach changed this year
to the Common
