Our School
Hello! Welcome to Margaret Winn Holt Elementary School. Our school is located near the heart of downtown Lawrenceville in Gwinnett County. Our school is lucky to be so close to the Aurora Theatre, which offers performances for children and parents. Take some time and check out one of their plays. In 2010, Gwinnett County Public Schools was awarded the Board Prize in recognition of outstanding student achievement. Margaret Winn Holt is proud to be apart of this community of world class schools. Our school has been recognized as a Title 1 Distinguished School for 5 years in a row. Go Black Knights!
About Me
My name is Brandie Whitlock, and I have been an Interrelated Resource Teacher at Winn Holt for five years. I am currently working on my specialist degree through Valdosta State University. When I am not doing school work, I enjoy reading my Nook, taking my dogs on walks, and kayaking on the lake. My favorite vacation spot is Asheville, NC, where I can hike trails to beautiful waterfalls and enjoy nature.
Special Education
As an Interrelated Resource Teacher, I work with students in kindergarten through 5th grade in the subjects of Reading, Writing, and Math. This year I am co-teaching in a 5th grade classroom and a 3rd grade classroom. I also teach 2nd grade Math and 4th grade Reading. As a special education teacher, I help students acquire strategies that will assist them with mastering the curriculum. A great place to learn about issues relating to students with disabilities is LD Online.

 Check out Education Place to play word games and take quizzes on stories you are reading in class. Click on your grade level and meet the author and illustrator, register for free to take a book adventure, or take quizzes on weekly reader articles. |
 Practice those math skills you are working on in class with IXL Math. This site has everything from numbers, shapes, graphs, and word problems. This is a fantastic site for students in all grades. |
 You'll have a blast practicing spelling and learning new words with Word Central. Check out their variety of games. You can unscramble words, feed the Bigbot, or fly Robo-Bee. This is perfect for students in 3rd - 5th grade. Word Work has never been so fun! |
 Check out Harcourt Math for great math information. There are games and activities for grades K-6. If you're stuck on how to solve a math problem, go to the show me feature for extra help. |
