I am employed as a teacher at Sumter Youth Development Center located
in Americus, Ga. Americus is approximately 12 southwest of
Plains, GA. Plains, GA is the where
former president Jimmy Carter lived.
Sumter Youth Development Center one of 26 schools within the Department of Juvenile Justice, as well
as one of Georgia’s 181 school districts.
My class motto is “Revising delinquent minds while preparing for new
beginnings as young adults”.
My name is Clifton Clark. I
reside in Americus, GA. I am happily married and raising three beautiful
daughters. I'm currently teaching Social Studies at Sumter Youth
Development Center. Prior to teaching I was a Institutional Program
Director, Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist and a Treatment Team Coordinator
with the Department of Juvenile Justice. I earned my Bachelors degree
from The University of Miami, my Master's
degree from Troy State University, my Specialist from Columbus State University
and I'm currently pursuing a second Masters from Valdosta State
University. I enjoy athletics, such as basketball,
softball, weight lifting and overall physical fitness.

I
teach a Middle/High School Social Studies class. The students I teach ranges in age from
12-20. Their grade level ranges from 7th-12th
grade. Each class begins with a 15
minute “brain pop” addressing state
standards as they relate to social studies.
We also differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the students we
teach, being that it is a co-taught classroom setting.
