Coach Brownlee's Alternative Education Class

Welcome to Coach Keary Brownlee's Alternative Education Class website.  Toombs County Alternative School is a computer-based alternative education setting for students who need additional support beyond what the traditional school setting can provide. Toombs County High School has produced three professional National Football League athletes: Nick Eason (Arizona Cardinals), Tavorous Tillman (Miami Dolphins) and Mel Blount (Pittsburgh Steelers).The county is famously known for it's Vidalia Onion Festival. Every Spring, Toombs County (Vidalia) anticipates the harvest of Georgia's official state vegetable. The Vidalia Onion Festival has been featured on The Food Network and recognized as one of the "Five Don't Miss Festival's" across country by MSNBC. My name is Keary Brownlee.  I am the Head Boys' Basketball Coach at Toombs County High School.  I am a sports fanatic.  I especially love anything dealing with basketball because it has been a part of my life for as long as I remember http://espn.go.com. I played Division basketball at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  I am married with three daughters.  Now my family, coaching basketball, and inspiring young lives is my passion.

 

 



I teach a computer-based program at Toombs County Alternative School called E20/20.  The E20/20 program allows students in grades 9-12 complete every academic subject that is offered at the traditional high school but instead on computer.  Students watch lectures, complete practice homework, take quizzes, then take topic tests.  I facilitate and monitor student completion and progress and help students complete their assignments.  The E20/20 program meets the "Highly Qualified" requirements of the state http://www.edgenuity.com/login/default.htm.
