Public, City, & Private Schools

 

There are many schools in Valdosta. There are 2 school districts that are the main districts.
Those districts are Lowndes County Schools and the Valdosta City Schools;
and there are also 2 of many the private schools that are very well know in Valdosta,
Valwood School and Georgia Christian School.

 

Lowndes County Schools

Lowndes School CrestLowndes County Schools has 12 schools total. There are 7 elementary schools; Clyattville Elementary, Dewar Elementary, Hahira Elementary, Lake Park Elementary, Moulton-Branch Elementary, Pine Grove Elementary, and Westside Elementary. All of these elementary schools start at Pre-K and go through 5th grade.

There are 3 middle schools; Hahira Middle, Lowndes Middle, and Pine Grove Middle.
These middle schools teach grades 6th-8th grade.

Lastly, there is only 1 high school in the Lowndes County District and that is Lowndes High School (LHS).
Lowndes High School has been around and standing tall since 1966. LHS is very well known for its football program and the marching band (The Georgia Bridgemen) and other athletics.

Valdosta City Schools

Valdosta City Schools has a total of 9 schools. There are 5 elementary schools; JL Lomax Elementary, Pinevale Elementary,
Sallas Mahone Elementary, S.L. Mason Elementary, and W.G. Nunn Elementary.

All of these elementary schools start at Pre-K and go through 5th grade.

There are 2 middle schools; JL Newbern Middle and Valdosta Middle. These middle schools teach grades 6th-8th grade.

Lastly, there is only 1 high school in the Valdosta City School District and that is Valdosta High School (VHS). Valdosta High School has been around since 1922. VHS is known for its football program and the marching band (The Marching Cats) and other athletics.

Georgia Christian School
